Feedback for a Pop Ballad?
Hey all! Looking for feedback for my first finished track since we've started in the Sync Accelerator! I'm a little nervous sharing for the first time, but I'm ready! This track was heavily inspired by soft pop/piano ballads by Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lewis Capaldi, and. could use your feedback to help me finish it. My To Do List still includes: -Timing Vocal Doubles -Ear Candy/Transitions/Creating small moments that keep the track moving -Mixing! Right now I've got levels roughly where I want them but would like some feedback before I start mixing. Right now, my biggest struggles are with drums and of course vocals. Do the drums feel sort of flat? Are the background vocals distracting? I feel like I'd like to add more layers but don't want to overdo it or take away from the main melody in a ballad like this. Thanks for any feedback ya'll might have! https://s.disco.ac/qlehcesqkkqm

I absolutely agree with @Kaleb Blackard You NAILED the vibe.👍 At around 1:04 you're playing a "B" in the piano and a "D" in the bass and they are clashing - I would change the piano to "D" like in the bass - because I like the implied chord change. BTW that happens a few times going forward in the song (check those too). The Kick at 1:41(the one on the last eighth of the measure - the and of beat four - feels rushed. I can't tell if the hi hat is throwing me off or if the kick needs to move a hair forward. Just check the hi hat and the kick together to see if they are in lock with each other. I love your drums in the last section.❤️ They are grooving! Your writing is amazing.💯👊

Years ago I co-wrote and produced a song that ended up in the syndicated version of a TV show. I still don't know if it was the co-writer/artist who submitted it. (Long story about how oblivious I was at that time) I don't know if I used a kick as a snare and a cymbal as the hi hat, I just picked sounds I liked - recorded him and did whatever my ears were happy with. So I say that to say submit - you may get lucky but keep learning about the submission process and production so that luck has less to do with your ability to be successful . Also with information/preparation you can turn sync into a business not just a "one-off" surprise.💯🚀🙂

My First Track
I don't know genres. Please help me know what genre this is. Also let me know what you think - mood - where this would fit - if you think it needs more done to it or if i should scrap it and start something new. Can you tell that i'm a nervous wreck - trying something new here🫣 https://s.disco.ac/wdhgporjrbfx

Introducing myself
Hi everyone, I am the blind rapper with a raspy melody, but I go by Onlii. I started my music journey in the early 2000s as a teenager but then I lost my site at 23 and I have a mixed tape out on Datpiff, that I released in 2018 with no push but I also have new music out on all platforms and if you type my name in any platform, my music will come up. I’m open to any and all feedback. I joined this community because I am an independent artist who is blind and has no guidance maneuvering in this industry.
