Hello
Hello 👋 I’ve been doing KDP for over 2 years, but recently started doing high content books. I’ve had success in a seasonal niche and with using profitable Amazon ads for those books. But outside of that seasonal niche - I need to build some evergreen content. I’m here because I’m interested in building a business and not putting all my eggs into Amazon’s basket. I would like to learn how to use TikTok etc for marketing books and potentially build up an email address and a sales funnel.

@Kate Hackett that's a smart game plan, if it's relative to your current niches, it becomes cumulative. Say it's a gardening books for your region, season lasts only so long, but the prep work before, the clean up afterwards , apple pie recipes from the harvest...that sorta thing can really start adding up....maybe a cool calendar to keep track and planning of all those steps..evergreen! Yeah keep us posted finds on tiktok
Book Cover Creation
So, as we know, the book cover is your 24 hour salesman. What methods/software do you use to create your book covers? I realize that I can use AI and get the job done, but I'm wondering if there's a specific software, agent, or prompt that can streamline, and speed up the process, while delivering a worthy book cover. Cheers! 👍😊

Hey Tony, These are all good points being made, I might suggest first off reviewing books in your particular genre that are selling well. YOu can make fairly good estimates in Amazon to plug in your niche, see what comes back. What are you noticing on the first page ( which are the sellers doing well per AMZ) strong graphics, particular font types , clean and simple. It may be indicative of what is moving along, if nothing else, you can capture 3-4 examples and send along to the book cover designers , move the discussion along much quicker imho. Yes, if you have some aptitude, try one of the AI tools, lot are free to try. luck with it!

I decided to stop feeling sad that my FB and recently Youtube posts don't even get to be seen let alone read. I had heard of short reads on Amazon and decided to do that instead. The Universe then showed me one of Dave's videos 😀 So here I am. I am ready to dive in and write my first short read. I am Bulgarian by birth and there is one gorgeous place in my birth country called The Rose Valley. Bulgaria is the second largest exporter of the super duper expensive rose oil. ( it is so expensive it is called "liquid gold"). When I was younger I would visit friends in the region but never went to The Rose Valley. I thought there was time to do that later. In later years. I am now 50 and still have not visited. I carried this regret with such sadness, because even when I eventually visit- friends that lived in that area have since passed away. But I turned that regret around and wrote a composition for cello and orchestra dedicated to The Rose Valley. In my composition through the music I express how I imagine a day visiting The Rose Valley- from the early 5am start for rose petals picking to the afternoon tea with local delicatessen and rose petals jam. That is the land of Spartacus people, of Thracian Kings, so it is quite special from a Historical point of view as well. I look forward to writing my short read about that- how I turned that regret around, how I transformed it into music. I look forward to learning with you and from you. The composition is called Bulgarian piece and can be heard freely on my Topic channel on Youtube. For those of you who don't know what a Topic channel is- my distributor CD Baby releases my tracks in this Topic channel ( not on my personal channel). I have no access to it, hence comments are turned off. But that is my original music there and you are welcome to listen if curious ⭐

Wow Milena...it's now on my "bucket list" places to visit! Sounds amazingly beautiful. Years ago...many...I stumbled into the desert area outside of Cairo in Egypt El Fayoum (sp) , rose growing area as well. I took the longest train ride, woke up to fragrances from mile outside the actual location...magical.
First book down, second incoming
Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to self-publishing and wanted to introduce myself. I've published my first book, and while it's been an exciting journey, I'm still struggling to make my ads profitable. I'm now preparing to launch my second book and hoping to learn from both my successes and mistakes along the way. For those further along in your publishing journey: When did ads start working for you? Do you manage them manually, or use any optimization tools or services? If you could give one piece of advice to your past self, what would it be? Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

An evolution I'm thinking about (and I want your honest take)
I've got something I wanna run past you, and I genuinely want your honest answer. When I started this channel it was all about self-publishing, and that's still a huge part of what I do. But the truth is I've never been only a self-publisher. I've built other businesses over the years, online and offline, because relying on one single way to make money has always felt risky to me. A lot of what I teach about KDP actually comes from general online business principles, things like how to sell digital products. So I'm considering an evolution. Turning the channel into more of a personal brand under my name, where I'm free to talk about everything I know, how to make money online with different methods, how to sell digital products, how YouTube works as a business, all of it, with KDP still right in the mix. Here's the part I think actually matters for you. When you understand all these business models, you stop seeing them as separate things and you start mixing them, using the advantages of each one together, and that's where the real money is. That's exactly what I do. Self-publishing is one of my main businesses, but it's not the only one, and the best thing I can show you is everything I do, not just the KDP slice of it. You'd get to see how the whole thing fits together. And honestly, I might show you more than just the business side. More of how I actually live, the day to day, because I think some of you would appreciate seeing that my life is pretty normal. I just have a different job than most people. It's a different way of living, but I'm a regular guy, and that's kind of the point, because if I can do this, you can too. Before I commit to anything though, I wanna hear from you ❤️

Honestly, just starting off with venturing into publishing , what really has me interested is how you've maaned to incorporate YT channel to market the skool community and your own branding on website. Not many people discuss the merge btwn all these channels to drive views, interest and ultimately sales. In the end , do what your passionate about, it conveys genuine and the reason I started to follow!🤙
