First book down, second incoming
Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to self-publishing and wanted to introduce myself. I've published my first book, and while it's been an exciting journey, I'm still struggling to make my ads profitable. I'm now preparing to launch my second book and hoping to learn from both my successes and mistakes along the way. For those further along in your publishing journey: When did ads start working for you? Do you manage them manually, or use any optimization tools or services? If you could give one piece of advice to your past self, what would it be? Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

@Naomi Richardson That's right! Right now, I'm focused on gaining more control over my ads and understanding what's actually working instead of relying too much on automation. At the same time, I'm working through Dave's course on content and email marketing for publishers, and I'm committed to giving that system a real shot. Depending on how it goes, I may even pause my Amazon ads for a while and focus on building traffic and an audience organically. For me, the biggest challenge isn't really learning the strategy...it's proving to myself that consistency is key and sticking with it long enough to see the results.

@Naomi Richardson Right now, I'm focusing on creating content for TikTok and Instagram while also working on a lead magnet. Once that's ready, I'll set up a funnel and start incorporating email marketing as well. I'm taking things one step at a time, though. If I try to do everything at once, I'll burn out pretty quickly😅

Hello everyone, Julien here. I've been interested in combining KDP, AI, and social media marketing for some time. I'm still working on my third book. I tend to prefer taking advantage of all the free marketing channels to their full potential, like TikTok and all the other platforms, testing unconventional methods to disrupt the marketing status quo and hopefully make a lot of sales.

Hey Julien, congrats on everything! Are you mostly focused on content that drives sales, or are you also using things like TikTok Shop and working with influencers?

@Julien Tarawali Got it! Thank you😊
How long does it take to make a TikTok video?
I've been following Davide's instructions with TikTok as ads has been costing me more than I am making. 3 videos a day, I'm on about day 14, so that's 42 videos so far... I do 2 flick thru videos a day and 1 with me speaking (I'm not shy lol)... initially it was taking me about half an hour per video... shooting the video, adding the music and then the text overlaid... but as I've continued, I've got faster... now I do about 10 clips in about an hour using a basic video software program Ive had for years... I'm sure there are better ones.... u can also use tiktoks own software... I bank these in a folder and make sure I have about a weeks worth, in case I can't make any for any reason... I find I make at least half hour a day to make whatever I can... not had anything amazing yet but trickling through... and views now becoming constant... hope this helps...

Thank you for this. It's the same strategy I'm trying to stick to.
