Glad to be here
Hello everyone, I’ve been working on my first KDP book and I’m now trying to figure out the promotion side. I’m hoping I can find my audience through TikTok, and I joined this community because I want to learn the techniques that actually work. The book is nonfiction, marketing & business, built for founders, marketers, consultants, and operators who need greater clarity and sharper positioning before a launch, product decision, or strategic move.so I’m especially curious about what kind of TikTok content helps people discover and connect with a book like that. Right now I’m trying to learn: - what type of videos perform best for book promotion - whether I should lead with the book itself or the ideas inside it - how to grow from zero without wasting time on the wrong approach Happy to be here and learn from people who’ve already been through it.

Welcome! Your book sounds like a great fit for TikTok honestly, that audience is hungry for practical business content. On your three questions, here's what I've seen work: For the book vs. ideas debate, I'd actually do both. Some videos can be purely about the book, the story behind it, who it's for, what problem it solves. Others can be teaching-led, where you share a concept or framework from the book and then use the book as your CTA at the end. The second type tends to build trust faster, but the first keeps the book visible. For growing from zero, consistency on a clear niche angle matters more than volume early on, your audience is well defined, which is already an advantage. A couple of questions to help dig deeper: what's the core idea or framework your book is built around? And are you comfortable on camera, or still figuring out your format?
How long does it take before the results come on TikTok?
I have been posting daily for a while with the techniques taught by you Davide. But it is not really happening after a month or two of posting. Wonder if you or some other person had experience with this and what to do about it? Will the results come anyway after a bit of time?

Hi Hans! There are many different reasons why you might not have seen results yet. I’ve also had long stretches where none of my videos really stood out, but by staying consistent and posting 2-3 pieces of content every single day, the results eventually show up. The truth is, though, it also depends on what you’re posting—whether you’re correctly using hooks in all three components I explain in the videos, if you’re maintaining a good pace throughout the video, and if your books are designed to be used as hooks themselves. To give you an idea: if you want to use part of your book as a hook by showing a chapter title, for example, your book needs to be formatted in a way that immediately grabs attention. There are so many factors to consider that it’s hard to give you a definitive answer, but what I’ve always done is focus on improving my skills with hooks and showcasing my books day by day. You don’t have to spend hours on it; just a few minutes for each piece of content is plenty.
Business or Personal/Creator Account
When setting up a Tik Tok account is it recommended to use a business or personal/creator account? It seems for those of us wanting to link to a KDP book a business account allows an immediate link but a personal account requires 1000 followers. From what I can see there are also some differences in the analytics available and the music you are able to use. I would welcome the communities thoughts on this. Thanks.

Hey Ed, I definitely prefer the personal account for the possibility of using all the music. The fact that you need to reach 1000 followers is not a problem, for the first period you can point directly to Amazon writing “you can find the book on Amazon as ……..”
How to generate reviews for Newbie in the KDP business?
Hi Everyone, I write books in the business niche. The hardest thing about the self-publishing is getting book reviews, I can well understand from the buyer's point of view a book that has "no review" there isn't a buying motivation. Does anyone have samples of UGC videos on TikTok that helped generate reviews? Appreciate any constructive Advice on this method of marketing books.

So, as far as I’m concerned, the most important thing to focus on is sales. Use simple TikTok content to sell as much as possible. Also, I think the best way to get reviews is by offering a lead magnet inside the book and asking for them directly via email. That’s how I’ve always done it, I offer a free resource in the book, and then a few days later, I send an email politely asking them to review the book if they’re finding it useful

If you're tired of fighting over expensive keywords, this shows you how to reach a massive "unaware" audience and scale to $10k/month without spending a dollar on ads. Go check it out and let me know what you think. Also mentioned a free guide inside that shows you how to create viral marketing videos in under 10 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWHMJ8W4xCc
