An evolution I'm thinking about (and I want your honest take)
I've got something I wanna run past you, and I genuinely want your honest answer. When I started this channel it was all about self-publishing, and that's still a huge part of what I do. But the truth is I've never been only a self-publisher. I've built other businesses over the years, online and offline, because relying on one single way to make money has always felt risky to me. A lot of what I teach about KDP actually comes from general online business principles, things like how to sell digital products. So I'm considering an evolution. Turning the channel into more of a personal brand under my name, where I'm free to talk about everything I know, how to make money online with different methods, how to sell digital products, how YouTube works as a business, all of it, with KDP still right in the mix. Here's the part I think actually matters for you. When you understand all these business models, you stop seeing them as separate things and you start mixing them, using the advantages of each one together, and that's where the real money is. That's exactly what I do. Self-publishing is one of my main businesses, but it's not the only one, and the best thing I can show you is everything I do, not just the KDP slice of it. You'd get to see how the whole thing fits together. And honestly, I might show you more than just the business side. More of how I actually live, the day to day, because I think some of you would appreciate seeing that my life is pretty normal. I just have a different job than most people. It's a different way of living, but I'm a regular guy, and that's kind of the point, because if I can do this, you can too. Before I commit to anything though, I wanna hear from you ❤️

⚠️ Community Safety Notice ⚠️
Unfortunately, we've been seeing an increasing number of bots and fake accounts joining online communities. Many of these accounts use famous names, pretend to be well-known people, successful publishers, or other trusted individuals in order to appear legitimate. In many cases, these accounts reply to posts with AI-generated messages and then may contact members privately through direct messages. They often try to get people to click on links, visit websites, or buy products and services. Please be extremely careful. If anyone sends you a direct message asking you to click a link, share personal information, make a purchase, or do anything that feels suspicious, do not engage with them. Instead, please report the account immediately. You are welcome to report any member who behaves this way. If you'd like, you can also contact me directly, and I will review the situation and ban confirmed scammers or fake accounts as quickly as possible. I want everyone to know that I am actively working to improve moderation and keep this community safe. However, as our community continues to grow and more people join every day, it can sometimes be difficult to immediately identify fake accounts or bad actors. Please stay cautious, use your best judgment, and help look out for one another. Together, we can keep this community safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for your support and understanding. I will continue working every day to make this community better.

More than one author page/brand
How to configure multiple author pages/brands? I have two different brands/personas that I'm in the process of creating a book for. I understand a single person can only have 1 KDP account though.

You’re right that you only get one KDP account, but that’s not where the brand lives, so it’s not a problem at all. Think of it this way. Your KDP account is just the backend, the place where you upload books, set prices, and get paid. It’s invisible to readers. Nobody browsing Amazon ever sees your KDP account. The brand lives in the pen name. When you publish a book, you choose the author name for that book, and that name is what readers see. Each pen name can have its own Author Central page, which is basically the public author page with a bio, photo, and the list of books under that name. So for your two brands, you just publish each book under a different pen name. Brand one gets its pen name and its own author page. Brand two gets a different pen name and a separate author page. Both run from the same KDP account in the background, but to anyone on Amazon they look like two completely separate authors. One account, as many brands and author pages as you want.
What is a metric for success on Tiktok?
What do you consider as a metric for success on Tiktok or what should we be aiming for on the platform? Are you looking at views, likes, followers, retention etc OR are you not really bothered about these things as what you are really concerned with is translating Tiktok engagement of any form into sales on KDP? - Tiktok is merely an advertising platform. I am also wondering if the answer may be a little different for me as I am hoping to release a series of books. This would mean being able to advertise and promote future books in this series to any followers so maybe worth growing a following here. (Only have one at the moment - 🙂 but you've got to start somewhere)

Sales are the only metric that matters to me. Views, likes, followers, all vanity if they don’t move books. A video can do ten thousand views and sell nothing, and one with two thousand can sell twenty copies. I watch what converts. On the series point, I’d actually push back a little. These days a follower isn’t worth that much, especially on TikTok. Someone who follows you barely sees your content anyway, because almost everyone just watches the For You page. It gives more dopamine, so that’s where people stay. I’ve got TikTok accounts with ten and fifteen thousand followers and honestly they don’t count for much. What works way better is using part of your videos for lead generation. Grab the email instead of the follow. An email list beats followers every time, because you actually own it and you can sell to it directly. So when you publish more books in the brand, you email your list, not your followers. Depends a lot on what your brand is about, but that’s the move I’d make.
