As most of you know, the spam on facebook is getting out of control. We see each spam message from all of our clients and this amounts to HUNDREDS PER DAY! I've spoken to several FB reps who told me they are aware of the problem and "working on it". Over the weekend I connected with a few people in my network who run ads for clients and they've had success reducing the spam they are getting on their business page significantly by changing the country privacy settings. Here's how to do it: FB page > settings > privacy > public posts > country restrictions ON > USA only Before you do this know that folks in other countries will not be able to view your page unless you designate that country in your settings. Leave a comment and let me know how this works for you. P.S. We have seen some shops click the wrong button and deactivate all of their ads. Make sure you click on the button that reads "Show only to certain countries" after you have entered the countries that you would like to be able to see your page and ads. SEE THE IMAGE FOR DETAILS.
Congratulations to Sadowski Auto Care in North Arlington, NJ for hiring a technician. I hope this is the beginning of long and mutually beneficial relationship.
I just got off the phone with a shop owner who offered a tech 5% of gross sales (not gross profit) to come on board. If you were on the call, what would you tell this shop owner?
Seems like 5% of his own production would be a good incentive, I hope he is providing some boost to the rest of the teams production for that, shop foreman or something.
Shout out to @Barry Lindblom over at Meyers Automotive for hiring a service advisor! I hope she works out beautifully for years to come. Cool story how she saw the Facebook ad and came in directly without applying. Sometimes it happens this way.
I just had a good question from a shop owner who wants to offer a sign-on bonus for new techs so he can compete with the local dealers. Of course his other techs are going to see the bonus advertised. His idea is to offer a group bonus that is equivalent to the sign-on bonus payable if they help the new tech make it 90 days. Anyone have any other ideas on what's worked in your shop?
Cash bonus, every month that we beat that month from the previous year, usually $100 each. Christmas bonus, 1st week of December, of $.50/billed hr, from the previous 12 months. (2000 billed hrs x .50 = $1000) just right for Christmas shopping.
