@Bill Widmer I intended to attend, but then the day got hijacked. I hope it was fun for everyone.
I’ve been developing a framework for adults with ADHD…
Over the last few years, I kept noticing the same pattern with my clients: They don’t lack information. They lack a way to organize that information into action. Most ADHD advice focuses on isolated tactics: • Use a planner • Try a morning routine • Regulate your nervous system • Declutter your space All helpful...None integrated. So I started building something that connects the dots. I’m calling it the Nest Navigation System — a framework designed to help adults with ADHD move from awareness → observation → regulation → environment → systems in a way that actually makes sense to the ADHD brain. It’s still in development. I’m refining language, testing the pillars, pressure-testing it inside my community. But at its core, it’s built around one idea: ADHD isn’t a motivation problem. It’s a navigation problem. And if we can teach people how to navigate their internal state before they try to fix their productivity, everything shifts. Curious if others here are building frameworks or structured methodologies for ADHD support. What patterns have you noticed that don’t get talked about enough?

I notice how deeply embedded the word "just" is in my mental vocabulary and self-talk. "Just get up." "Just go to bed." Just this, just that. I guess that Nike slogan works for vanilla-minded people, but for me it's more like a nail that holds me fast to wherever I'm stuck. Dunno if that's an ADHD thing, or some sort of defiance thing in my own personality.

@Elizabeth Hadzic "there is a a lot of guilt and shame connected to transitions and tasks..." SO MUCH guilt and shame. Am 💯 working on it, but those veins of guilt- and shame-ore run deep. Like, "awaken the Balrog" levels of deep.

@Rex Loyer I was going to say no because I just told you I don't have the capacity to add anything else to my plate. But damn if @Michael Rizk doesn't make a GD good VSL. Have added it to my calendar.
Transitions and Anticipatory Anxiety
Transitions are one of the earliest places anxiety shows up for adults with ADHD. Waking up. Leaving the house. Opening your laptop. Switching from rest to effort or effort to rest. If your body feels tense before anything actually happens, that’s not random. 🧠 Awareness: Why Transitions Trigger Anxiety For many people with ADHD, transitions were never neutral. Growing up, being unprepared often led to: - correction - pressure - embarrassment - being told you were “behind” or “not paying attention” So the nervous system adapted. It learned to anticipate the next demand before it arrived. That anticipation shows up as: - muscle tension - urgency - mental rehearsal - avoidance or over-preparing It’s a protective response shaped by experience. Your body is trying to make sure you’re ready before something can go wrong. 🔍 Observation: What to Notice Today Before or during a transition, gently notice: - Where do I feel this in my body? - Does my energy speed up, freeze, or brace? - Do thoughts appear before the situation begins? - Is there an urge to rush, delay, or avoid? You’re not trying to stop the response. You’re learning its pattern.

I hit this transition resistance this morning. Went to bed, looking forward to getting up and at 'em today, but then did not want to get up this morning. I imagined @Elizabeth Hadzic's voice, coaching me through the process. "Just notice. No judging. Gently notice, what are you aware of?" It helped. Possibly because I found it preferable to just get up and get moving than to tune into my body and sit with my feelings. Is that good? Probably not, but it worked.
💸 The "ADHD Tax" Series: My War Against Zombie Subscriptions
We talk a lot about "investing" in our businesses, but we rarely talk about the "ADHD Tax"—the literal cost of the administrative mazes designed to keep us stuck. I’m starting a series on this because I think we need to air out the receipts to remove the shame. Exhibit A: My War Against "Zombie Subscriptions" 🧟‍♂️ Thanks @Rex Loyer for the idea and inspired by @Rebecca Bautista from her courageous conversations about finance. I’ve spent the last few months fighting a war on three fronts just to stop paying for things I don't use. It wasn't because I was lazy; it was because the systems were broken. 1. The "Ghost" Company: I wrote to one company months ago to cancel. Their excuse? They were "so busy growing" they hadn't gotten around to processing my cancellation. (Yet they had plenty of time to process my payment). 2. The Login Loop: For two cloud services, I couldn't log in. Support said they couldn't help me unless I logged in. A perfect, maddening Catch-22. 3. The Premium Trap: Another group plan literally refused to let me delete the accounts. My Solution? The Nuclear Option. ☢️ I stopped trying to "follow the rules." I called my credit card company and blocked the automatic payments entirely. It felt messy. It felt like I "should" have been able to solve it the "polite" way. But honestly? Protecting my resources was more important than being polite to a broken system. See more about this practice and Click-To-Cancel Rule https://www.arnoldporter.com/en/perspectives/advisories/2026/02/ftc-and-state-ags-continue-to-scrutinize-subscription-practices This is a shame-free zone. The energy we spend beating ourselves up over these $20 or $50 charges is often more expensive than the money itself. 👇 Tell me one "Zombie Subscription" you’ve fought (or are fighting) recently.

@Rebecca Bautista Color me shocked, LOL. 😆 Narrator: He was not, in fact, shocked that Rebecca had a connection related to a financial issue.

@Rebecca Bautista That would be fantastic! Because I am struggling to scrape together a post for my own community right now. The algrorithm with its "community velocity" kink can suck it. I'm tired. 😩
