Wanted this for a while now. Love the way the orange blossom comes off this. I was very torn between elixir and absolu. Both are incredible but if i could only pick one then it had to be the elixir. Performs and projects like a monster. I still think i might pick up a small decant of absolu. If you havent tried it then you must.

I’m feeling a bit grumpy after a cold gray day here in Seattle and I’m solo tonight so I thought it’s time for another installment of my solo beast mode series where I shhhhhpray the $hit out of one of my favorite fragrances and marinate in it for the evening. Tonight’s episode: YSL L’Homme EDP. I absolutely love this release. The open is just this beautiful boozy bitter orange, lightly sweet and almost ambery woody with a hint of brightness. When the bergamot brightness dials down, the lavender comes in along with some geranium sweetness, all carried by this delicious woody backbone from cedar, oak and non-tangy vetiver. I usually get about four hours of soft projection but 5 sprays to each arm and a bunch of blasts to my neck, chest and shirt mean I’ve gone nuclear with this super delicious scent. The citrus will fade in about four hours but then it will be this delicious slightly powdery boozy woody skin scent with just a hint of orange for 3-4 hours after that. Guys if you haven’t tried this I think you should - it’s such a beautiful mass appealing designer scent but it’s pretty different from most offerings out there (like, it’s not blue, it’s not aquatic, it’s not vanillic, it’s not a citrus freshie, it’s not a gourmand… it’s just awesome). For me it’s a perfect afternoon / evening scent that works in all but the hottest of summer, and while it’s more button down shirt and dress jeans than torn t shirt and shorts, it’s pretty versatile.

Vague? On purpose. Interest: I was hooked. I’ll do reviews on them a bit later but I ordered my first Oakcha product and it doesn’t disappoint. Its’s called Gotham Dust and if Batman or Nightwing wore any type of fragrance, this would be the one. I also ordered a Herectic Parfums discovery set called Ghosts; A spectral summer collection of phantom perfumes, featuring musician Chelsea Wolfe.These haunting scents exist as veils; translucent, skin-close, and quietly alive. The package came with a newspaper size and a book describing Chelsea’s involvement, as well as each fragrance: Spectral Grace The Veil Ektoplasma Doppleganger Shadow People. The book is written by Douglas Sterling Little with images by Dustin Edward Arnold. It’s a fun package scented by another of their fragrances “Angels’ Trumpet.” I can’t wait to reviews these six new fragrances!

Going with Al Haramain L’Aventure Knight for z slice of the GIT profile. I prefer this ti Coolwater because of performance. They’re different, but give me the same feeling. Really beautiful fresh feeling that works in any office environment.

Annual checkup. Doc says you smell good. I say Creed Green Irish Tweed. He immediately says "Cary Grant". He tells me he has it at home but has mostly switched to PDM for longevity, since once he leaves home he doesn't re-spray. Pretty cool.
