Hello Hello It's Chris and Marie's plant farm
Sitting behind this car, I couldn't help but take a quick photo to share in here. Don't dob me in, it was for the greater good and I was stationery. SO MANY STRATEGIES going on on the back of this car. I'll share some prompts to get us started in the comments. Let's have some fun with this. Fonts Branding Photo Offer Tagline There will be more! Let's talk about how all these mini strategic decisions that went into this brand/van etc leads to certain actions from customers.

As a designer, this hurts my soul, as a lover of unhinged marketing, I LOVE IT 😅 But I feel like the messaging could be simpler, my eyes don't quite know where to look. AND a portion of the web address is cut off!
No advertising… is that a strategy in its self?
First question so not sure if it’s correct …. But here goes. 🫣 let me know if it’s on track trish . This has been on my mind for some time now. Can a business thrive with no online presence and absolutely no advertising?? Is this actually a strategy? And what company’s do this? Do any businesses do this? And why?

What an interesting thought! Coming from a small town I feel like there are sooo many businesses running off word of mouth marketing (maybe a sign here and there). I find that these are mostly trades or service-based businesses (plumbers, carpenters, mechanics etc.) who rely heavily on referrals. I feel most have been been around forever so I don't think it would work as well for a new biz. My pop, for example, has been a mechanic for 50+ years has a small workshop with literally only a phone number that people pass on and he's fully booked every week 😅 I don't know if it's necessarily a strategy either more of a 'don't fix what's not broken' mentality… or in my pop’s case, just a genuine inability to use technology hahah

@Christel Bowe Interesting point, you're definitely right! I definitely think he attracts the type of audience that likes the 'little guy' and not a big business. His workshop's not flashy, he offers his personal car for people to drive around and will pick you up on the side of the road if you're stuck haha. They definitely feel special, and he couldn't offer that kind of service if he got bigger.

Thought I would start off strong with my first post by observing Tri’s strategy heheh 1. Photo-based Instagram grid + text-heavy captions 🤯 It’s definitely going back to the roots of Instagram and a stark contrast to the Chromatical era 2. The obvious Tri-Touch in the copywriting - as someone who is sick to death of ChatGPT and has been a fan girl of Tri’s tone since 4eva this has been so refreshing!! 3. Sending voice notes back to DMs - SUCH a time saver first of all, but also what a way to make a girl feel special 💘 Not gonna lie, it worked on me 4. The points system for this group. I’ve seen SO many Facebook groups end up in the graveyard because of a lack of genuine interaction or too many self-promotional posts. I hope this keeps this group vibrant and full of thought-provoking convo Keen to hear what everyone else has noticed! Let’s see if this post gets me brownie points or kicked out of the group 🤭

I need new ad ideas!
I’m personally not able to stop on these kinds of ads anymore, and believe them or even notice them anymore (it’s not about the people it’s the style of ads and promises) automatic swipe past. Like I absolutely know the point of a lead magnet. They’re great. But I feel that these over curated, promise a million things etc just won’t get me to click let alone sign up. They look too polished, too promise heavy. I look at them and just see my inbox filling with emails selling me stuff. Not the actual value that could be. Whereas I know there are other ad examples that I’d trust so much more… be excited to open the emails. Trust the promise. Not dread the impact. I feel like even these ad examples below, if done differently, could change how I perceive them. (But again that’s just me). 👉🏻 Can we start a thread here of cool ads you see that stop your scroll to help give us new ideas for how we can create?

As someone with a background in social media management, most content makes me CRINGE. I'm always looking out for content styles that hit different! I alwayysss get caught out by ads that don't look like ads, like a talking head green screen, lifestyle/funny vibes or these sort of 'scroll-stopping' visuals: https://www.instagram.com/p/DLjYLICvjJ1/ (however, I feel like they will be overdone soon)
Why would someone intentionally put a grammatical error in a paid ad?

@Rebekah Di Blasi I like this take! I was talking to someone the other day who was hiring and she said she's actively looking for spelling errors in cover letters to prove it's not been written by AI 😂
