💸 What’s the Most Expensive Mistake You’ve Made in Woodworking? (Win $100 Gift Card!)
We’ve all had one. That project that went sideways, and took a chunk of our wallet with it. Maybe you miscut an entire sheet of walnut or used the wrong finish on a custom build. Confession time: what’s the priciest woodworking lesson you’ve ever learned? 🏆 Prize: $100 Sawinery Gift Card (to ease the sting a little 😉) 📅 Winner announced on December 1! 📍 Open to U.S. customers only (for now). We’re working on making them available in more locations soon!

A custom built mandolin for a custom that I fell with in my hands because I stumbled over a small off cut of wood on the shop floor. 3500 material and labor + markup for the 1st one , 1800 to remake another one for my client. 5300.00 total. I was not happy with myself, but learned a valuable and costly lesson about shop safety!
💪What’s the One Woodworking Skill You’re Working On Right Now? (Win $100 Gift Card!)
Woodworking is a lifelong craft, and there’s always something new to refine, like sharpening chisels, handling a router with confidence, or keeping cuts clean and square. What are you working on improving these days? Tell us in the comments, and let’s cheer each other on (bonus points if you share what’s been helping you make progress!). 🏆 Prize: $100 Sawinery Gift Card (because practice deserves a little reward 😉) 📅 Winner announced on November 3!

French polish finishing. It's tedious, precise and time consuming. Extremely worth it in the end as it increases the value of the item.

@Lisa Nicholson thats a great skill to learn!
♻️ What’s the Most Creative Use You’ve Found for Scraps? (Win $100 Gift Card!)
We all have a pile of “too good to throw away” pieces sitting around. Sometimes, those random pieces become our most creative builds. What’s the coolest or most unexpected thing you’ve made from leftovers? Tell us how you’ve turned offcuts into something useful, clever, or just plain fun (photos welcome!). 🏆 Prize: $100 Sawinery Gift Card (perfect excuse to grab that tool you’ve been eyeing 👀) 📅 Winner announced on October 20!

Christmas ornaments cut out on the bandsaw. They generate extra cash for the season that I give to my grand kids for helping me in the shop.

Being a folk instrument luthier, I create traditional instruments using old Appalachian Mountain craftsmanship techniques to build Mountain Dulcimers.
