If you already have a book published on Amazon KDP, don't overlook audiobooks. Audiobooks can become an additional income stream from a book you've already created. The best part? You typically aren't running separate ads specifically for the audiobook. If someone discovers your paperback, ebook, or hardcover and sees an audiobook option available, that's another opportunity for a sale. So why do so many authors skip audiobooks? Usually, it's because they assume producing one will cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars upfront. But what if I told you there's another option? You may be able to work with a narrator using a Royalty Share agreement. If you choose Audible's exclusive distribution option, the royalties can be split between you and the narrator. Instead of paying a large upfront production fee, both parties share in the success of the audiobook. As some of you know, I've been traveling internationally and am currently visiting Italy. What you might not know is how I've been leveraging my business to help support my travel. One of my favorite strategies is making sure my business expenses are working for me instead of just being expenses. For example, I use an American Express Business Gold Card. (I realize this may be more beneficial for those in the U.S.) The reason I love this card is because it allows me to earn Membership Rewards points on business spending, which I can then use toward flights and travel. Check this out... Last month alone, I spent about $1,000 on Amazon ads. That spending earned me 4x points. But that's not the only category that earns bonus points. Many of the Skool communities I've joined also code as business services, which means those expenses have earned me 4x points as well. Think about that for a minute. Sure, it may not look like much right now but over the course of a year just amazon and skool alone might be pulling in 65k annual points. I was already planning to spend that money to grow my business. By using the right credit card, I'm earning rewards that help fund future travel experiences. This is why I always encourage business owners to look at their entire business ecosystem. Don't just focus on generating revenue. Also look at how you're spending money and whether those expenses can create additional value. 👉 Advertising. 👉 Software subscriptions. 👉 Communities. 👉 Business tools. If you're already spending money in these categories, you might as well earn rewards while doing it. If you're spending a lot on Amazon ads, software, or Skool memberships and you're not using a card that rewards those purchases, it may be worth taking a closer look at the Amex Business Gold and seeing if it makes sense for your situation.
