Are Stats Everything?
What’s one skill or habit that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but makes a HUGE difference on the court? Off-ball movement. A lot of players think they’re “not involved” if they don’t have the ball, but smart cuts, relocating after a pass, and dragging defenders with you can completely break a defense. It creates open shots, opens driving lanes for teammates, and forces defenders to stay locked in every second. The flip side to that is if you have poor off ball movement you can ruin the entire flow of your teams offense. Hears my advice, and I say it all too much... WATCH FILM. When you watch where players rotate and flow to after a pass or shot or even in transition you will start to apply that on the court. What are other off ball stats that contribute to your value on the court... or off?

New year new me...
WRONG... One thing I can't get behind is the whole slogan of "New year new me". Just because the calendar says "2026" doesn't mean its your time to change your behaviors, your habits, or YOURSELF. The real time to start doing your best is... NOW Every single day you have the power of choice. The choice to break those long dragging bad habits. Secondly, you don't need to be a new you, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. Without YOU, you wouldn't have made it as far as you have today. So instead for this upcoming year try: Next year, Keep Going. Stay Patient Keep Grinding yall

Winter Break(through)
My favourite part about winter break is that when everyone goes home and takes their foot off the gas, this is where you can separate yourself from everyone else. All the skills that you've been lacking and have had no time to personally improve on during the season can be improved now. Whether that's your speed, agility, or shooting percentage, now is your time to earn those minutes for second semester. And hey don't get me wrong, still take the mental break that is MUCH needed during this time. Anyways, you know how it is... SPKG

You don't have to touch the ball to be a valuable asset
Most players focus on the ball… but the best players create advantages without touching it. Here's some skills to consider: - Reading defenders & cutting at the right time - Using pace changes to get open - Setting meaningful screens (angle + timing) - Relocating (pass and move) - Filling lanes in transition - Creating spacing for teammates or balancing the floor The next time you have a shift and don't touch the ball, ask yourself if you did any of these things, if you did, count your win.
