What’s one skill or habit that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but makes a HUGE difference on the court?
Off-ball movement.
A lot of players think they’re “not involved” if they don’t have the ball, but smart cuts, relocating after a pass, and dragging defenders with you can completely break a defense. It creates open shots, opens driving lanes for teammates, and forces defenders to stay locked in every second.
The flip side to that is if you have poor off ball movement you can ruin the entire flow of your teams offense.
Hears my advice, and I say it all too much... WATCH FILM. When you watch where players rotate and flow to after a pass or shot or even in transition you will start to apply that on the court.
What are other off ball stats that contribute to your value on the court... or off?
