✒️📜 Writing Prompt 📜🖋
Question for fellow authors...
If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice before publishing your very first book, what would it be? For me, it would be to focus on building relationships with readers from the beginning, not just finishing the manuscript. I'm curious to hear your answer. What's the one thing you wish you had known sooner?
🌟 Sell more books using TikTok 👀
This girl is making 18K a month selling her books by using TikTok to market them. This is a phenomenal video. No fluff, straight to the point, exactly what she does and how she does it. Definitely worth watching.
🎥 Market Your Book Like a Movie 🤩
Authors can learn a lot from the film industry. Think about what happens before a movie comes out. You don't just wake up one day and discover it's in theaters. For months, you see: 🎬 Teaser trailers 🎥 Behind-the-scenes clips 📸 Character posters 🎙️ Cast interviews ✨ Short scenes that spark curiosity 📱 Clips all over TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X 🤔 Fan theories and discussions By the time the movie is released, people already want to see it. So why do so many authors spend years writing a book... and then make one post saying, "My book is out now!"? Market your book like it's an event. - Create a book trailer. - Share aesthetic videos that capture the mood of your story. - Introduce your characters one by one. - Post short excerpts that leave readers wanting more. - Talk about the inspiration behind your world. - Share your research and writing process. - Reveal the cover like it's a movie poster. - Build anticipation months before launch, not days 🌟 Most importantly, find your audience and go to them. If you wrote a psychological thriller, your content should attract thriller readers. If you write romance, create content romance readers already love. Go where your readers already spend their time: BookTok, BookTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Facebook groups, YouTube Shorts, newsletters, podcasts. 🌟 People can't get excited about a book they've never heard of. Publishing isn't the finish line. It's opening night. 🤔 Question: Think of your favorite movie. What made you excited to watch it before it came out, and how could you create that same feeling for your own book?
