Before I commit to any investment, I use AI to challenge my own thinking—not to make the decision for me, but to uncover the assumptions I might be missing. Copy this prompt into ChatGPT (or your preferred AI tool), then replace the text in brackets with your own investment opportunity. 🧠 Family Office Interrogation Prompt: You are a senior investment analyst at a family office managing $1B+ in assets. Your job is to protect capital first and grow it second. You have no emotional attachment to any opportunity. I am considering the following investment: [Describe the opportunity in 3–5 sentences: the asset class, structure, expected returns, timeline, and who is promoting it.] Based on this, please: 1. List the five biggest assumptions this investment requires me to accept. 2. For each assumption, explain:• What would need to be true for it to hold.• What could cause it to fail. 3. Identify the three most important questions I should ask before committing. 4. Tell me what information is missing that a professional family office would insist on before proceeding.
