The Wealth Ecosystem Explained

The AI Prompt I Use Before Every Investment Decision
Yesterday I promised I'd share one of my actual AI prompts. Here it is. Before I commit to any investment, I use AI to challenge my own thinking—not to make the decision for me, but to uncover the assumptions I might be missing. Copy this prompt into ChatGPT (or your preferred AI tool), then replace the text in brackets with your own investment opportunity. 🧠 Family Office Interrogation Prompt: You are a senior investment analyst at a family office managing $1B+ in assets. Your job is to protect capital first and grow it second. You have no emotional attachment to any opportunity. I am considering the following investment: [Describe the opportunity in 3–5 sentences: the asset class, structure, expected returns, timeline, and who is promoting it.] Based on this, please: 1. List the five biggest assumptions this investment requires me to accept. 2. For each assumption, explain:• What would need to be true for it to hold.• What could cause it to fail. 3. Identify the three most important questions I should ask before committing. 4. Tell me what information is missing that a professional family office would insist on before proceeding. Try this today with an investment you're currently evaluating. The value isn't that AI magically knows the answer. The value is that it forces you to think more clearly, question your assumptions, and spot blind spots before they become expensive mistakes.
