Now I am just teasing myself
Today, I found myself in a predicament. I was teasing myself with a Longines HydroQuest featuring this absolutely stunning green sunburst dial. Seriously, it was like a siren call for my wallet! I was there, trying on the watch, feeling like a kid in a candy store. I could almost hear it whispering, âBuy me! Iâm a masterpiece!â I tried to maintain my composure, but as I caught my reflection in that shimmering dial, all I could think was, âIf I wear you, I might just become one with the seaâdefinitely not a bad trade-off.â And that green! It would make Kermit envious, and would be so easy to wear that perfect shade that says, âIâm classy but also down for some guacamole.â But alas, my bank account responded with a solid âNope!â So there I was, giving myself the most extravagant pep talk: âYou donât need it, not just yet.â I even if it was 22% discounted. Thatâs just means when I am ready I now have a goal to bargain to. Letâs be real, when youâre trying to convince yourself that a watch is a ânecessityâ while secretly knowing itâs the most extravagant impulse buy ever, thatâs just prime self-teasing. The watch may not have won today, but Iâll be back, Hydro Questâwatch out!
