WOTD: 2023 Rolex Daytona Sunburst Blue Dial on White Gold

This is the 2023 116509 Rolex Daytona Cosmograph aka “Baby John Mayer”, sporting a sunburst blue dial and surrounded by white gold.

I was indifferent about this piece. It’s blue and white gold

is mistaken with stainless steel. Boy was I wrong. In the sun this thing is insane. A stealth wealth iykyk piece. Much heavier in person because of the gold. Heads up w gold pieces, they are softer and easier to scratch.

2023 is the last year of the 116509 references. 2024 and later, the reference # is 126509. They’re essentially identical in movement and power reserve (72 hours). The newer 126509 has smoother winding and slightly better shock/magnetic resistance. Nothing insane, but a couple enhancements nonetheless.
