Well if it’s not obvious, the dial is absolutely beautiful. Picked it up in Tokyo over 2 years ago. Still love it!

This is the 2023 116509 Rolex Daytona Cosmograph aka “Baby John Mayer”, sporting a sunburst blue dial and surrounded by white gold. I was indifferent about this piece. It’s blue and white gold is mistaken with stainless steel. Boy was I wrong. In the sun this thing is insane. A stealth wealth iykyk piece. Much heavier in person because of the gold. Heads up w gold pieces, they are softer and easier to scratch. 2023 is the last year of the 116509 references. 2024 and later, the reference # is 126509. They’re essentially identical in movement and power reserve (72 hours). The newer 126509 has smoother winding and slightly better shock/magnetic resistance. Nothing insane, but a couple enhancements nonetheless.

This came in just in time, going to wear this to meet a client. Compared to a Rolex movement that’s 28-30mm wide and 5-6mm thick, this movement is 27mm in diameter and 3.3mm thick, giving these a thin appearance - This piece typically comes on a rubber strap that would need to be cut for your specific wrist size. This is a less common example on bracelet. I’m definitely typing on the computer with my wrist up lol - The textured dial that looks like a globe is an intentional design. They represent longitude and latitude lines that express the spirit of travel and adventure
