WOTD — Casio G-Shock Model DW5600-1V

Happy Tool Watch Tuesday!

Look who added a G-Shock! Wearing my new Casio G-Shock Model DW5600-1V today.

So far, loving the fit and feel wearing this watch. Virtually indestructible, loaded with functional abilities, and for under $50.00, this one is definitely a favorite. I love everything about this one, save for one small thing.

The only issue that I have with this watch is the tiny, recessed setting buttons, especially the top left one. For my hands, these are much more challenging to use than similar setting buttons on my digital Armitrons or Timex. The top left button on this watch is purposely designed to be pushed in and recessed even further than the others in order to prevent the accidental adjusting of settings. I get it, and that is a well thought out design feature for a watch designed specifically for active wear, but it does make it a bit more challenging for me personally with arthritic hands and nail issues. If anyone else has this issue, I solved it by snipping off the cotton end of a Q-Tip and using the soft stick then as a gentle pusher. Problem solved.
