Walking Manners and “Breaking”

Hey Crew, Frankie and I were wondering about when to let him have a bit of freedom to sniff bushes etc vs when to really hone in on walking nicely side by side.

I want him to explore the world and not just be rigid beside me. Thoughts? Do I mark his sniff time as a “break”? Hope that makes sense? Sorry if you’ve covered it wit us already, lot of info for us to retain
