Why You Can't Hook A FSBO In The First 7 Seconds (And How To Do It Correctly)
Most agents fumble cold calls because they treat the start of the call like it doesn’t matter.
But the truth is—You’ve got 3 to 7 seconds to create confused curiosity…Or the call is already dead.
Here’s how I do it:
Start with a story. Not a pitch. Not a script. Not "Just checking in."
“Hey, real quick—I was sitting down with one of my buyers yesterday. I don’t have a buyer for your home, just so you know, but your property came up in conversation and I wanted to touch base. If the right offer came across, would you be completely against looking into it?”
That’s it.
It’s casual. Human. Relatable. It feels real—and that’s what creates engagement.
Then the objection hits:
“We’re not in a rush.”“We’re only doing 3%.”
Great🎯
Because now they’re engaged—and you're in the conversation.
And that all happens in the first 7 seconds.
