I remember the times...
Where I'd wake up, feeling groggy and TIRED.
I would then do nothing of value, just simply scroll my phone ๐ฑ for a bit, then get out of bed.
(This was a year ago btw)
I'd then go into the SHOWER.
Was I going to take a cold shower today?
NOPE.
Instead, I put the dial right up to one of the HOTTEST ๐ฅ settings
EXPECTING to warm myself up from it
And to make me have a "fresh start" to the day.
Guess what?
It made me even MORE TIRED. ๐ฅฑ
I felt WORSE than I did before...

To explain how I felt WORSE having a hot shower in the morning...
Let me explain the CYCLE of BODY TEMPERATURE
Across 24 HOURS.

It starts 2 HOURS before you wake up
This is often called your "Temperature Minimum"
This is when your core body temperature is at its COOLEST point
Then after THAT, it starts to RISE in body temperature. ๐
Why does it do this?
Because, it wants us to WAKE UP, and get ENERGIZED for the day.
This increase in body temperature DOES this.
So when our body temperature is INCREASING
Our alertness and ENERGY โก is increasing.
So that's why 2 hours later, we WAKE UP.
This increase in body temperature keeps going until early-afternoon.
It then PEAKS, then it starts to drop down.
And when it drops...
It's the exact OPPOSITE of the increase
It makes you more TIRED and SLEEPY ๐ค
(Which is what you want going to bed obviously)
It then continues to drop, all the way back to your temperature minimum 2 hours before you wake up.
And THAT'S how the 24 hour cycle of your core body temperature GOES.

So now we understand that...
We want an INCREASE ๐ in core body temperature in the morning
And a DECREASE ๐ in core body temperature in the evening/throughout the night.
(This guide's focused purely on the increase in core body temperature btw)
But surely hot showers boost our body temperature, since they make us more hot...
Right?

NO.
They DON'T increase our body temperature.
This is because when your skin reacts with temperature (e.g, it's hot on the skin because of a hot shower)
Your body reacts like a THERMOSTAT ๐ก๏ธ
It FREAKS OUT and therefore does the OPPOSITE.
It would then DECREASE its core body temperature.
So now we know that the HOT SHOWERS in the morning, are UNNATURAL to us.
We do NOT want a decrease in core body temperature in the morning, because WE WANT TO BE MORE ALERT!
And we do that with an INCREASE in CORE BODY TEMPERATURE!
How do we get the increase?

Through cold exposure, we get an INCREASE in our core body temperature.
๐ And we also get a MASSIVE boost of adrenaline, dopamine (due to the shock we get when we undergo cold exposure)
Cold exposure also has many, MANY benefits that come with it as well
But we're not talking about that today.
We're going to talk about how you can USE cold exposure to get the BEST increase in energy.
So you can USE that energy towards your BUSINESS!
And therefore reach your GOALS and ASPIRATIONS FASTER!!!

Firstly, what type of cold exposure should you even do?
For the biggest ENERGY benefits?
Well, there are THREE forms of cold exposure
Such AS:

- ๐ Cold IMMERSION
- ๐ฟ Cold Showers
Which one is the best?
Well, just for YOU
I'll organize it from MOST effective to LEAST effective:
- ๐ Cold IMMERSION
- ๐ฟ Cold Showers
- ๐ฅถ Going outside in the cold and shivering
The most effective one is COLD IMMERSION.
What exactly IS cold immersion?
It's just a fancy term for ice baths/cold tubs.
But with it, you want your body to be FULLY immersed in the cold water.
UP TO YOUR NECK.
๐ฏ ACTIONABLE STEP: Invest into an ICE bath. In the meantime if you DON'T have one, have COLD SHOWERS.
When should you DO cold exposure?
Well, remember what I said about how your body reacts like a THERMOSTAT to how hot/cold the skin is?
I think you can now guess which one cold exposure activates...
It INCREASES ๐ your core body temperature.
So we'll want to place this in the MORNING!
๐ฏ ACTIONABLE STEP: Do your cold exposure in the MORNING.
If you want to do it immediately after WAKING, that's fine.
If you want to do it a FEW hours after waking, that's fine.
JUST DO IT WHEN YOUR CORE BODY TEMPERATURE IS STILL RISING!
๐ How LONG should you do cold exposure?
You don't need to do cold exposure for AGES to get positive effects.
Hell, even after a few SECONDS, you could get some positive effects.
However I recommend, for the BEST possible results.
Spend about 1 - 5 MINUTES doing cold exposure.
๐ฏ ACTIONABLE STEP: When you do your COLD exposure, be in there for 1 - 5 MINUTES!
How COLD should the cold exposure BE?
If you've NEVER done cold exposure before...
Don't do as COLD โ๏ธ as POSSIBLE.
Instead, do a TEMPERATURE which you think is really COLD, but you think you could STAY IN for.
For some people, it could be 60 degrees fahrenheit (15 degrees celsius), and for others it could be LOWER.
If you've been DOING cold exposure a lot already, then make it as cold as you can.
MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE!
๐ฏACTIONABLE STEP: If you haven't been doing cold exposure, start with a temperature of 15 degrees and slowly go DOWN over TIME.
๐ฏ ACTIONABLE STEP: If you HAVE been doing cold exposure for a WHILE, then go as COLD as it is UNCOMFORTABLE.
What ELSE can you do to further BOOST cold exposure?
You could try certain BREATHING ๐ฎโ๐จ techniques.
This could be like the Wim Hof Method, or 4-7-8 method...
These techniques BEFORE doing cold exposure can further ENHANCE the EXPERIENCE!
And it can also BOOST your ENERGY!
