Mental game madness
I just submitted my week 2 progress. Numbers wise, I am not where I'd like to be. Have I been laser focused and consistent? I could be better. My birthday was during week 1 (so the food was far from healthy) and creating a life changing habit is not easy. I have constant fluctuations with my motivation levels, and to be honest that is unmotivating (ironic huh?)
I have to keep reminding myself that I am still doing something good for my body no matter how much I get done. The number on the scale is still going down, even if my high expectations would prefer if it were a lot lower. My wife has noticed my weight loss in other ways as well. My stamina on the pickleball court is definitely not the same as it was when I first started playing.
There will always be downs in any journey. I, personally, have noticed that celebrating the little wins can help with defeating the mental fog that develops when you don't meet the expectations that you set for yourself. Because we all know that we all have high standards for ourselves!
