Tournament day
Had a decent day, 3 hours of pickleball. Tournament was round Robin 8 people per class you won 1 point for each win, if in a tie all game points were added up. I played in the intermediate 3.0 to 3.5 and got 4th. There was a 3 way tie for 2nd and I had the least total game points. Not what I hoped for got to meet new people and learned new people to stay away from(constant bad line calls). On another note anyone else play against someone who is doing great then when you play with them they just tank the game, just frustrating.

Good work, Bryn! Way to go!! 🔥🔥🔥 You mention playing with players who just don’t play well with you. In my experience that sometimes happens - for some reason just no chemistry. There is one local woman who plays really well, probably one of the top 3 women players on the island of Lombok. She often asks to play with me and we play together at the same club regularly. (At the local clubs you just show up and play with many different players - usually one game played and one or two games resting, depending on the number of players and the number of courts - there is no cost to play because the courts are owned by the communities, we just pay for balls). Because I record almost all my games on DUPR (whether social or competition), I can clearly see who I play well with and who I don’t play well with. This particular woman and I have lost about 95% of the games we play together. The only reason I can think of is because we just don’t have good playing chemistry. She wins most of the games she plays, except the games she plays with me. It is interesting for me to note that the more frequently she and I play together (like maybe 3 games together in one morning), the more likely we are to hit a “sweet spot” together and absolutely kill the opponents when we win. I think my laughing when I make a mistake makes the more competitive players irritable when I play with them - I definitely win more games with players who tend to laugh along with me - so maybe that’s an indication of similar playing chemistry?
