I'm a tech guy. So I created a tech community. It didn't work out as I didn't make any sale with it.
I always had in my mind that I suck at sales. Had 2 short sales jobs where my performance was abismal. I hated it.
But after being on skool for 6 months and flopping hard on every attempt to sell my tech consulting services, offer after offer, rebrand after rebrand I decided to restart from scratch.
And the idea was to have fun. Roast & Promote was created as a place where people can get reviews (AKA roasts) and get rewarded with ads for roasting others.
In a little more than 2 months my overall skool profit is a bit more than 100 USD/month.And the community is at arounfd #300 in money category in discovery, one of the hardest of Skool. That's a big win for me. And it's all because I'm not afraid of reinvent myself, asking for feedback and fixing what is wrong.
So I created a space that is optimized for that. And I'm thriving on a marketing/advertizing/sales community just a few months after being convinced that I sucked at all of that. Funny right?
And I even share my community ideas for free, that are optimized by people's roasts. And you can do the same.
