I was inspired to write a poem in a new poetry community I joined and here it is. By the way there was an extra bonus (of what I don't know) if you included the phrase: I almost didn't say this... Of the three submitted so far, mine was the only one the owner of the community commented on. He said, "Nicely done. I like that" Please let me know what you think. “A Life, A Laugh, A death” A laughing child turned to tears A scratch, a bruise, and life’s long fears Was it all worth it, to run headlong Writing such a strange... echoing song I almost didn’t say this, but in due time I found an old picture that has changed my mind When it’s all said and done, and I am dead Will it matter what was in my head A picture paints a thousand fears A laughing child turned to tears

I'll start with one of mine called "The Fall" Note: For the record I only use the pronoun "He" to reference God because it is the public norm. I truly believe and understand that God is gender neutral (after all he has created all of them). If you like you can replace "He" with whatever pronoun you prefer as you read the poem. The Fall By Zane D. Dowling I saw a leaf fall to the ground one cold forbidding winter’s day. This death so slight yet so profound, Brought pause to think on life this way: How quick and frail this life I see, If once this leaf in time must fall. How long ere when this leaf is me; till life doth yield to death’s harsh call. But with more thought I understand the mysteries of this cold world, I cannot know as mortal man such things till life's flag's unfurled. So I travel through God's love song And when I fall, for sure I must, as each of us must do ere long I’ve faith in He who’s made me thus. I'll sing His praises all my days, and submit to Him all my ways. .

Rise To Your Purpose Rise and shine, twinkle toes. Comb your hair and put on cloths. Splash your face with water. Say your prayers to Father. Get out, do something good. Take a walk through the woods. Do that for which your are ment. Make it worth the day you spent.

I came to this community looking for others who write and wanted to share my writing for an opinion. I was trying to build a personal community with my writing and advertise it .
