Understanding where your learners are, changes everything.
Understanding where your learners are changes everything. The Conscious Competence Ladder is one of those frameworks that once you understand it, you can't unsee it. Four stages. Every learner you've ever worked with has moved through them -- whether you recognised it at the time or not. When you can identify exactly where someone is in their learning journey, you stop guessing and start responding with precision. That's the difference between a trainer who's good and one who's exceptional. 🎧 Episode - give it a listen: https://www.buzzsprout.com/783818/episodes/15549982
The room that changed how I teach forever 🎯
The room that changed how I teach forever 🎯 When I started working in a maximum security correctional facility I had to throw out almost everything I thought I knew about adult learning. Many of the people in front of me had little to no formal education but more life experience than most learners I had ever worked with. My frameworks didn't fit. My unconscious bias was exposed immediately. It was one of the steepest learning curves of my career and it made me a far better facilitator. Here's my question for this community: What's the experience, the room, or the moment that forced you to grow the most as a trainer or facilitator? Drop it below. 👇
