You need a structure that actually holds your book. 📕
I feel like I’m a broken record at times…
Because here’s what I see over and over:
Writers don’t fail because they lack talent.
They stop because they don’t know how to carry the story through.
They lose their path and they may feel inadequate.
First off, let’s look at a few famous authors who were told that they weren’t good enough:
- Vladimir Nabokov: A publisher described Lolita as "overwhelmingly nauseating, even to an enlightened Freudian" and suggested it "be buried under a stone for a thousand years".
- George Orwell: Animal Farm was rejected by several publishers, including one who told him, "It is impossible to sell animal stories in the U.S.A.".
- Sylvia Plath: An editor said of The Bell Jar that "there certainly isn't enough genuine talent for us to take notice".
Now, these authors kept pushing forward even after rejections and what helped them was having that support to back them up!
