Weekly Challenge- Hover Indication 🛸
Hover indication is used in scentwork for the dog to show us the location of hide. It’s used in small area searches where we need the precise location. Think drug dogs, dogs finding memory cards and usb, sniffer dogs at airport. Hovering is used in situations where other indications are not appropriate (we don’t want dog to dig at bag of cocaine or bark in a busy airport). We start by using a neutral item like a coin or can lid and use shaping to get the indication. This way we can make all our mistakes on an item that doesn’t matter not the target scent. If you would like to add the scentwork component to the exercise after the week is up you can always upgrade to premium and access all the videos in classroom. Happy training! Get involved and share your progress. I’m always happy to answer any questions just tag me so I don’t miss them. There are 2 videos. Introduction with Frank and how to get started with Oreo ☺️

Thank you so much @Fiona Austin for running the challenge this week. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to work on it. Our next challenge starts 13th July and is all about scentwork indications; hover, sit, down or retrieve. You will find step by step instructions in our Premium Classroom or work at your own goals ☺️

Canine conditioning challenge
Hi all, it's still Sunday here in the UK , but I think some of you are waking up already to Monday and I want you to be able to start the challenge as soon as you want to dive in.... I'm a certified canine conditioning coach here in the UK, I've qualified from The Canine Conditioning Academy which is a level 4 diploma. We are looking at one of the exercises from my foundation course which is our side steps. It's a great exercise and all you need is some treats and a dog. It works the adductors and abductor in both the hind and fire legs, the glutes, the side abdominals and the iliopsoas, so for such a simple exercise it is quite the work out. If this is new to your dog, reward anything that looks like a sideways movement and build on that. We don't want to push our dogs, but moving towards them into their space can encourage the sideways movement we are after. If you can side steps already, you can take it out and about with you, uneven surfaces, going up and down a slope. I have other options if you find this easy ☺️ Show me what you can do and I'll give you feedback.

Weekly Challenges! 🥳
Weekly Challenges starting Monday 29th June! To keep everyone active and training together, we’re kicking off weekly challenges in the community. Each week we’ll focus on one skill, with daily lessons already up in the classroom or posted in community. You can follow our process or your own plan. All you need to do is check in here each day, what you practiced, how it went, a quick video if you’ve got one. This isn’t just about your own dog’s progress though. Check in on how others are going too, drop a comment, cheer someone on, ask what’s working for them. That’s what keeps this community moving. Month’s prize: whoever’s top of the leaderboard at the end of the month gets a month of Scent Adventure (premium) free. You can keen an eye on it in leaderboard tab, the more active you are the higher you climb 😊 First weekly challenge — 7-Day Retrieve — starts Monday. Lessons are already in the classroom, just head in and get started. Comment below if you’re in.
