Weekly Challenge- Hover Indication 🛸

Hover indication is used in scentwork for the dog to show us the location of hide. It’s used in small area searches where we need the precise location. Think drug dogs, dogs finding memory cards and usb, sniffer dogs at airport. Hovering is used in situations where other indications are not appropriate (we don’t want dog to dig at bag of cocaine or bark in a busy airport).

We start by using a neutral item like a coin or can lid and use shaping to get the indication. This way we can make all our mistakes on an item that doesn’t matter not the target scent.
