Day 15 - Lyon & Retrieves
Had a quieter day, I took him for a walk on forestry tracks. He is getting more adventurous jumping from banks 🙈 The only training I did was on that walk. I did lots of rewarding for check ins because I read a post that at his age it's wise to go back to training the important life things as if he was a puppy. Then we stopped and did some hold for our retrieve challenge, I was actually quite surprised he played along in that environment. We also did a hunting exercise for strengthening his hunt cue. He was a very good boy and I enjoy training like that, when you add it into walks.

That sounds like loads of fun and great little mix. Good tip about training like a puppy again. I’m seriously worried about the teenager stage 😅 Nice work on holds in distracting environments 🙌
Day 31- everything but retrieves 🙈
Our morning adventure and recall walks were lovely and nice heelwork and positions during lunch break. Pm retrieves practice was chaos on the other hand. Having the pup now I find Frank is really full on with his toys. It’s not a bad thing for old boy to feel full of life again, he’s just bit cheeky and runs off with them 😆 First couple of reps he just took off to chew his toy, then in a classic human way I decided to make it even harder and you can see how this worked for me 🤣 No PM training with Oreo. It’s been freezing here so he was ready for a snooze wrapped in blankets

@Sally Argo yessss that’s exactly what I was thinking. Often when I drill something he already knows he loses interest. He also often thinks he knows better what I want than I do 🤣
Weekly Challenges! 🥳
Weekly Challenges starting Monday 29th June! To keep everyone active and training together, we’re kicking off weekly challenges in the community. Each week we’ll focus on one skill, with daily lessons already up in the classroom or posted in community. You can follow our process or your own plan. All you need to do is check in here each day, what you practiced, how it went, a quick video if you’ve got one. This isn’t just about your own dog’s progress though. Check in on how others are going too, drop a comment, cheer someone on, ask what’s working for them. That’s what keeps this community moving. Month’s prize: whoever’s top of the leaderboard at the end of the month gets a month of Scent Adventure (premium) free. You can keen an eye on it in leaderboard tab, the more active you are the higher you climb 😊 First weekly challenge — 7-Day Retrieve — starts Monday. Lessons are already in the classroom, just head in and get started. Comment below if you’re in.

@Anaelle Billaud what a good girl. Great idea to teach the cue and then add other objects 🙌

@Anaelle Billaud what a good boy! I love it. If you haven’t tried yet, holding him from his chest, throwing the ball and releasing might help too with the drive. That’s what I ended up doing with Abby and there is a video in retrieves classroom. Lovely work and always nice to see your doggos 🥰
Day 14 - Lyon + Retrieve challenge
We were at puppy class and I have been rewarded for trusting the process. Lyon was 50% less chaotic than usual and even did some sitting with me calmly watching the other teams. He also did some really nice heelwork and stays. I'm so chuffed with him. That led me to wonder if he wanted to sleep on the bed last night and I can revel that ended in a hard no from me 🤣 The remaining 50% chaos makes that an unpleasant experience and landed him in his cage within a few mins. I did some retrieves and casual holds at puppy class. Just on lead when we were waiting for class to start.

What a good boy! That sounds like an awesome class. Hahaha back in prison 🙈😆 That sounds bit like the night we had. Screaming and demanding to be let out of crate…resulted in longer sentence 😅
