A vulnerable share about the weight loss conversation
With my How to Reverse Weight Gain in Perimenopause workshop happening next week, I kept feeling this nagging discomfort about how it might be perceived — especially with all the GLP-1 discourse dominating the conversation right now (and especially in the menopause space). I had a really heartfelt conversation with my sister this afternoon about diet culture, unrealistic norms and the pure exhaustion of being in constant battle with our bodies. I don't want to be part of the problem. I don't want anyone to think I'm contributing to anti-fat bias or diet culture by hosting the workshop. So I wrote this newsletter and I was wondering what you think.
I started this community only a couple short weeks ago, and I value your desire to be here: to learn, explore and create community in this space. I think it's what is missing for so many of us. I want us to be able to explore sensitive topics like this. And I'd love to hear your thoughts.
What do YOU think about this conversation? I'd be so grateful to have you weigh in. (pun intended!)
