Nobody ever asked me if I was okay
Not the women in my church.
Not my family.
And in fairness, I never let anyone close enough to ask.
I learned very early that being seen was not safe.
So I performed “okay” for many years.
I showed up. I served. I smiled.
I gave my husband a version of me that was always “managing,”
never truly arriving.
What I needed was someone to ask:
“Is there something you’re carrying that you’ve never said out loud?”
If that’s you today
I’m asking.
What are you carrying that you’ve never said out loud?
You don’t have to answer here if this isn’t the space.
But know that the space exists.
And you are not “too much.”
If you’ve ever performed “okay” when you were not okay,
drop a 🤍 in the comments
and share this with one friend who needs to know they’re not alone.
