I thought I would fill you in on why we are on this platform and how special it is. Social media is a mess now! Remember the early days of Facebook when it was all about connection? Now it is all about how to mine your data, make money and keep you on the platform as long as possible to show lots of ads... and not show you anything going on with your friends! Well Skool is the opposite. Once you are on Skool (and in some active communities) it becomes the replacement. You can connect with real people! Doom scrolling gets replaced by Skool! No ads! (Ok I might make you an offer occasionally! โค๏ธ) But no "buy this saucepan" every 2 minutes. It is real connection with real people. And the people who work at Skool are incredible people. But Sam Ovens the co-founder (main guy) is such a gem. His values and ethics are outstanding. And he is on a mission to connect a billion people in communities. If I find a great interview with him I will share it. But if you talk to anyone who knows him, they just talk about how amazing he is... and watching him over the last 2 years I get it. Now Skool isn't just about online communities... you may notice there is a map inside the Ease Within... it is there so you can connect with those nearby in real life (or IRL as it is called on Skool). Don't worry the map is always 10 miles from your actual location! Plus, you can pin it if you want to pick a spot near enough but securely not near your home (like I have - otherwise half the week, I am swimming in the sea!). But you can connect with each other and build real relationships here. They say there is loneliness epidemic. Around the world, researchers estimate that roughly one in every three adults reports feeling lonely on a regular basis, and in the UK that number sits stubbornly high, with millions saying they lack meaningful connection in their day-to-day lives. In the past decade, loneliness has been linked by scientific studies to increased stress, anxiety, depression, disrupted sleep, weakened immune function and even heart disease.
