Introduction time!
Just a small intro, I currently live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and we just got about 2 feet of snow dumped on us. Not all of my chickens are allergic to the snow, some actually enjoy playing in it and come out during the day. It gets bitter cold here and I do not heat my coops. I have dealt and trapped many predators living out here in the woods. It's quite challenging but I do love being a chicken mama!!!!!!!!!!
New here
Hey everyone! I’m Rachel — new here and happy to join this community .I’m a homesteading mama from Northern Manitoba, running The Homestead Haven, where we focus on simple living, preparedness, and building a strong, self-reliant home. I love connecting with people who are into canning, food storage, and practical skills. I teach canning and have more homestead-style classes coming soon. If anyone ever wants to chat about preserving food, stocking a pantry, or off-grid living, I’m always happy to share. I also write over at my blog Homesteading to Riches, where I talk about homestead life, canning, preparedness, and building simple systems that actually work. Looking forward to learning from all of you and being part of this group!

Wacky Chicken Wednesday
Chickens are basically tiny chaos wizards. What’s the weirdest or funniest thing your flock (or a single chicken) does? Example: screaming at a leaf like it committed crimes. 😂 Story time 👇
