How does your garden grow?
May is here (already!) and fur most growing zones, it's officially gardening season! Is anyone growing a garden? I'd love to hear about it! I'm very behind in my garden revamping project and going slowly but surely. My husband and I built raised garden beds...one 8'x8', two 2'x12', three 4'x12', and five 4'x14' beds. We had over 16,000 pounds (yes, you read that right...8 tons!) of soil compost mix delivered to our house and moved it from the front driveway to back of the yard by shovel and wheelbarrow. So many trips back and forth, miles walked, and we still need the 563 cubic feet of garden space is only half full. I built hoop row covers and we got irrigation kits to install. We got 3 varieties of raspberries, 2 blackberries, two blueberries, 2 peach trees, a fig tree, 2 varieties of asparagus, a concord grape vine, and 6 small pomegranate seedlings. More kinds of veggies and herbs than I can list here. It's been a massive project but it's going to pay off! I'm exhausted but excited about our future mini farm.

Wow! Sounds like a project but good on you! I do grow a small garden - mini pumpkins for the chickens, strawberries and I planted a raspberry stick this year haha. I'm going to try watermelon as well. And basil. I keep adding things little by little.
Looking for topics to bring in experts on...
One of the big things I want to do for this community is bring in experts on various topics you want to know about. My goal will be to have calls that you can ask questions and get immediate answers and they are recorded for future use if needed. I'm not an expert so I'll be relying on others in various areas to bring us that expertise. So question is...what do you want to hear about? It can be generic info for a season...like spring prep or winter prep. Or we could do something specific like breeding, showing chickens, etc. The sky is the limit as I know we have a lot of great people here with expertise. I have already talked with a couple that are willing to come on and help. So let us know in the comments. Anything is possible. Don't hold back. And if you see a comment that sparks interest, expand on it for others. Looking forward to seeing what we come up with!

I'd like to learn about showing chickens. I grew up showing cattle, but didn't get chickens until recently.
