The “Almost Trash” Test
One of the easiest mistakes to make when decluttering is assuming something has no value just because you don’t want it anymore. I’ve had plenty of items that looked like “just get rid of it” pieces turn into real money — books, cables, small appliances, old toys, kitchen items, even random parts. Before you toss something, ask yourself: Would someone need this to replace a broken one? Would someone want this because it’s discontinued? Would this save someone from buying new?Is it easy to photograph, list, and hand off? Not everything is worth selling, of course. Some things really are trash. But the more you practice spotting hidden value, the better you get. Today’s tiny challenge: Pick up one thing you were about to donate or toss and ask: “Could this be someone else’s $10, $20, or $50 solution?” Sometimes clutter is just clutter. But sometimes? It’s money wearing a disguise.

A Weird Marketplace Trick That Actually Works
I’ve noticed something interesting lately: Sometimes my FREE listings help my PAID listings sell faster. Seriously. I’ll put a random item up for free — maybe something too bulky, outdated, or not worth photographing perfectly — and suddenly: - more people view my profile - older listings get new clicks - buyers start messaging again It’s almost like the algorithm wakes up and says:“Oh… this person is active.” And sometimes a person who comes for the free item ends up buying something else. A free item can become:✔ a profile booster✔ a traffic generator✔ a goodwill builder✔ a fast decluttering win Not everything needs to become a high-profit flip to be valuable. Sometimes momentum is the real win. 💬 Have you ever noticed certain listings seem to “wake up” your Marketplace activity?

Today’s Clutter-to-Cash Thought: Your “Unsellable” Item Might Just Need a Different Buyer
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from selling my storage unit finds is this: Sometimes the problem isn’t the item. It’s the way I’m seeing the item. Something that looks like “junk” to me might be exactly what someone else needs for a project, a replacement part, a collection, a rental property, a craft, a memory, or a bargain. That doesn’t mean every item is worth listing forever. But before tossing something, I like to ask: ✅ Could someone use this for parts?✅ Could it be bundled with something else?✅ Could it be listed for free to create Marketplace activity?✅ Could it be useful to a hobbyist, teacher, crafter, parent, or reseller?✅ Is this actually “trash,” or am I just tired of looking at it? That last question is a big one. When we’re overwhelmed, everything starts to look like clutter. But sometimes there is still value hiding in the pile. Today’s tiny challenge: Find one item you were about to throw away and pause for 30 seconds. Ask yourself: “Could this be useful to someone else?” If yes, consider listing it, bundling it, donating it, or offering it for free. Progress doesn’t always mean selling everything. Sometimes progress is simply making a decision and moving one item out of your home.
