When most people get into copywriting, they think that they should only focus on mastering CJN, PAS, and DIC to write good emails.
I'm here to tell you that those frameworks are not that good.
Of course, those frameworks could help you, but there's a 100X more effective way to write emails.
It's faster, it gets higher open rates, and more people buy.
Here's The-3-Step-Process:
- Get the target customer to open the email
- Create the DESIRE to take action
- Get the target customer to take action
You get the target customer to open the email by writing subject lines that include at least 2 of these elements:
- curiosity
- something that's unexpected
- benefit/dream outcome
- pain/fear
- personal
- drama
- crazy story
- easy to understand
Once the reader opens the email, we go over to step 2:
Create the desire to take action.
To do this, you can describe what their life looks like if they use your service/product or you can imply fear and describe how their life will look like if they don't change.
Make this as CONCISE as possible. Don't waste a single word.
Also, you have to build INSANE curiosity.
After you create the desire to take action, you present them with one simple path to take action.
This should be CRYSTAL CLEAR.
Tell them exactly what to do.
Also, make sure to sell the click, not the product.
To sell the product we have a sales page, you just need them to click on the link.
Here are some extra tips for u:
- Put in a WIIFM (What's in it for me?) in the first few lines of your email
- Keep your subject lines under 40 characters
- Only have one big idea for every email you write
- Only present them with one single path to take action
- Make the first few lines in the email (before the WIIFM) super short and simple to read. This makes them hooked into your copy.
Also, do this before you write the actual email (this will make the writing process 10 times easier):
- find the customer bubble (beliefs, desires, pains, fears, failures, suspicions)
- find out what the goal of the email is (what action do you want the reader to take / What lesson do you want to share?)
- find out how you can make SURE they open the email
- find out how you can get them to take action on the thing you want them to do
