From external, to internal, to external.
Similar to the way people talk about “mind” and “body”,
As separate things,
You may also hear people refer to “external” vs. “internal” arts.
But there is only one whole.
The mind is part of the body,
And the body is connected to the mind.
There is no external without internal,
And there is no internal without external.
Too much focus on one or the other,
Or worse,
Disregarding one or the other,
Creates imbalances.
Tai Chi is all about balance.
Harmony.
One whole working together.
One part moves, all parts move.
As above, so below.
Different people have different goals,
And different training may be more or less ideal,
Based on those goals.
What are your goals?
For me, it is to be the best version of myself.
To have the energy to do whatever it is I want to do.
The physical ability to walk, run, jump, or whatever else.
The stamina and endurance.
To have good health, because health is wealth.
To maintain balance physically, mentally, and emotionally.
To be able to handle whatever life throws my way.
Resilience.
Adapt and overcome.
Take things as they are,
Instead of as my perception dictates them to me.
Are the limitations really there?
Or just self-limiting beliefs?
You are either growing...
Or you are withering away.
Becoming or Being.
Or b!tching or bullish!tting.
We are capable of so much more...
Than the labels we’ve been boxed in to.
When you break through your glass ceilings,
Suddenly what was once the ceiling,
Now becomes the floor,
And a whole new room of possibilities opens up.
Level up!
