Yippee!
My yarn order came today! I am not ready to start the project I ordered it for just yet, but I was so thrilled to see all the colors. I am going to be making the Woodland, a cowl designed by Jen Tyler @hooksntales. I ordered 15 different colors from Love Crafts. It’s Paintbox yarns, Simply DK. I love Paintbox yarns and I love using DK weight. Who wants to do a CAL with me? If you get this pattern, you can show off your rounds and colorways with everyone here. Stay tuned…

What do you use?
How do you block your finished work? I recently bought a hand held steamer after years of using the steam function on my iron. Here’s a picture of my latest sweater being blocked. Do you use a steamer? Do you skip blocking? Share in the comments.

Let’s start at the end…
Or almost the end. I find that finishing your pieces is not often talked about or shown. I have made a very easy hat, crocheted in rows of ribbing that I am now sewing together. I have a series of photos because I think it will be easier for you to see than a video would be. You will have to give me feedback on that! First up a photo of my yarn needles. Choose a needle with a large eye and a blunt tip. The purple edge is my last row and the blue edge shows you the way my foundation chain looks. The last photo just shows the long yarn tail I left which I will use to sew my hat together.
Let’s start at the end…
Closing the top
Once you reach the top of the hat, you will have an opening that needs to be closed. Just use the same yarn tail and weave it through the rows around the top. Pull it tight and your hole will disappear! Fasten off and weave in the ends. That’s a whole post on its own….
