Use refund reasons as pre-sell copy
Use refund reasons as pre-sell copy.
Refunds are not only a support problem. They are also a clue that the pre-sell did not set the right expectation.
Before promoting an offer harder, look for the reasons people ask for refunds or complain after buying.
Common clues:
- "I thought this was done for me"
- "I did not know I needed traffic"
- "I do not have an audience yet"
- "This is too technical"
- "I bought it but never used it"
- "I needed templates, not training"
- "I thought commercial rights were included"
- "This does not fit my niche"
Turn one refund reason into a pre-link line:
"Best fit if you already have ______."
"Skip this if you are expecting ______."
"You will get more from this if you can spend ______ this week."
"This helps with ______, but it does not replace ______."
"Check the rights/licensing if your plan is to ______."
First action today:
1. Pick one offer you are already promoting.
2. Find three refund reasons, support complaints, review objections, JV page notes, or sales-page FAQs.
3. Choose the one that would create the worst buyer mismatch.
4. Write one honest expectation line above your affiliate link.
5. Remove one hype line that hides the same issue.
Example:
If buyers refund because they thought a traffic product would also create the offer, your pre-sell line could be:
"Best fit if you already have a page or offer ready. This is not the first step if you still need to decide what you are selling."
That line may reduce curiosity clicks, but it can improve buyer quality.
Good affiliate copy does not only make the product sound useful. It helps the wrong buyer opt out before they become a refund.
