"You will never get a second chance to make a first impression" - Anonymous. Why do you need this? Starting a new role can be exhilarating, yet also daunting and a bit scary... All those thoughts running through your head: - What if I mess up? - What if my boss doesn't like me? - What if I get it wrong with my team and other teams? Whether you are looking to take the next step up in your career or need to make a positive impact to provide security for your family - making a positive impact in the first 90-100 days of a new job is important. I know as I have been through the process multiple times in my 20+ year corporate career. In my last role change, I also changed companies, moving to a place where I did not know anyone. The stakes were high for me and I felt I had to get it right. I decided to take charge of the situation and structure it so that I was in control in the early days. Rather than just turning up and being buffeted by whatever was happening in the business in the early months, hoping my boss was good and organized and that the company had a great onboarding system. Ask around...how often does this happen? In many cases, onboarding of new hires is terrible! I have started two new roles and did not even get a laptop to work on for a week... Then my new boss was too busy to spend time with me and left me alone to figure things out. Out of frustration and desire to make a great impact with my last move, I created this template to structure the first 100 days in a new role.
