Weekend eating. BBQ anyone?

I know people are from all over the world and everyone has different weekend things to do, but many of them involve food, or gatherings with food.

Here in the states, especially now that temps are getting warmer, the BBQs tend to start ramping up. Here in sunny Los Angeles we can pretty much BBQ year round...golf and go to the beach too.

So I am wondering if anyone other parts of the world, etc. have food cultural things that happen seasonally and if you are taking part in any of them this weekend. Next weekend we have Memorial Day and that is usually an excuse to BBQ something large, or at least lots of things.

I'm planning a whole class on BBQ because it's my first love, so as we get closer to summer here, you can expect lots of ramp up and pictures over in the 'zone'.
