Stayed up late last night and finished the driver-side bracket mock-up — and I’m seriously loving how it turned out. Yeah, it’s a little bulky, but it has to be. This bracket drops the shackle under the frame, ties into the body mount, and adds strength where these K5 frames really need it.
We’re running a factory-length rear style HD shackle up front (around 4–4.5”), hoping the shorter design keeps side-to-side deflection down and helps stability. The 3-inch leaf springs might be soft, but we’ll know more once it’s on its own weight. If needed, I’ll add a leaf. Still gotta measure pinion shim angle once everything is sitting right.
Bracket #1 is done — onto the passenger side next.
What do you guys think of this setup so far?
