Template for an Intro Post
I know that we did the exercise on intro posts and it was a tough one to kick off with. I mentioned that I have a standard intro that I use in other groups and asked if I could create a template for it. So below is my regular intro and then a template so you can create something similar.
👋 Hi, I'm Mercedes
So happy to be here and to meet more like-minded souls 🕊️
✨ A bit about me:
Born in London, grew up in Hertfordshire, and lifelong Arsenal fan ⚽
Studied maths at university (and even started a PhD)
Became a Yoga Teacher in 2014 and Yoga Sports Coach in 2015 🧘‍♀️
Born and raised vegetarian, turned vegan in 2013 🌱
Once ran an ecommerce store selling knitting supplies, I’ve always loved creating things with my hands. 🧶
✨ Life right now:
Single mum to my amazing 5-year-old son ❤️
Serial renovator — 8 moves in 9 years and counting 🏡
I have an allotment, an RHS qualification in horticulture, and an ongoing love affair with the sea 🌊
Passionate about slow living, cycles, and finding peace in the in-between spaces.
✨ My spiritual side:
My dad studied with the Dalai Lama, so I grew up with Buddha statues and deep conversations about compassion 🕉️
Had my first psychic dream at 14 and trained in mediumship at 19 🔮
Meditated daily for almost a decade (minus those early months of motherhood, survival mode is real 😅).
I adore candles but am allergic incense! 🕯️
✨ My work:
I create spaces that help people pause, reconnect, and rebuild steadiness after stress, like my Skool community, The Sacred Pause.
I’m also building The Spiritual Directory, a home for conscious creators to grow their work sustainably, without the hustle.
My approach blends nervous system awareness, energy work, and grounded spirituality, because real transformation starts when the body finally feels safe enough to soften.

Pro Tip
Ok, so I have no idea if there is such a thing as a pro intro writer but there we go. I just wanted to say that when we connect with others, it is generally not through what we do but who we are. Your intro post should not just be about your work or who you help, then it feels like a pitch and people disconnect.
If you can share bits of you that people will find interesting. Things that show the real you, what your life is like, they are much more likely to build connections with you. If you read my post, how many potential points of connection are there with me before I even mention my business?
What might be an interesting exercise (and this is just for fun) is read it and find the places where you can connect with me and share below. If you want to use the template and try out a different intro post in the group that might be helpful, whatever works for you x
