What if I told you that most of your “wants” aren’t really yours?
This week we’re diving into how companies skillfully nudge, tempt, and sometimes straight-up manipulate us into buying more than we need. From emotional branding to clever marketing psychology, we’ll unpack what’s really going on behind that “Add to Cart” button. We’ll also explore the hidden costs of overconsumption, not just the environmental impact, but the mental load too. Cluttered spaces. Decision fatigue. That weird post-purchase regret. And of course, we’ll look at the movements pushing back against all of this and rethinking what “enough” really means. How often do you shop online compared to in physical stores? And do you notice a difference in how you feel when you buy something in each?

Ever notice kids don’t “go online” anymore? They live there
Friendships don’t pause after school, questions don’t wait for tomorrow and boredom barely exists long enough to become imagination, it gets solved in seconds. Childhood used to be shaped by the neighborhoods, now it’s shaped by the algorithm. So kids are growing up faster in some ways, they know more, connect more, navigate digital worlds effortlessly. However, slower in others, patience, resilience and deep focus don’t get as many reps. Technology didn’t ruin childhood. It redesigned it. The real debate isn’t screen time vs no screen time… It’s whether we’re teaching kids to control their tools or letting the tools quietly raise them. What differences do you see around you? Do you think children today are "growing up differently" because of technology? How?

The purpose of our community! 💗
Hi there my lovely group! 🤗 We have a few new members, so I would like to welcome you all! I want to remind you all and explain to our new members, that the best way to practice English, or any language, is to practice little and often. 💬 While we all have commitments, if you can, please do try and do the exercises, which only take a few minutes, as often as you can. If you would like to join in our group conversations, we have a live every week. 🎤 If only one person votes then we will not be able to do the live unfortunately. They are only 15 minutes maximum, and it would be lovely to see you if possible. I hope you have an amazing week! 🌻
No live this week.
Hi everyone! Unfortunately, this wee there has been very limited participation (don’t worry, I know we are all busy), but usually I will try to plan the live around the weekly tasks. Therefore, we will not be doing a live this week. I am very sorry about this. 🫂

Consistency is the real key to crushing English Learning
You don't lose when you only squeeze in 10 minutes of study a day. Nah, you lose when you throw in the towel and give up. Think about Thomas Edison, he didn't quit until he nailed that light bulb after thousands of tries. "I haven't failed," he said. "I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Every stumble in English is just one step closer to fluency. Keep showing up, even if it's quick. You've got this! What's your go-to daily English habit?
