The goal of the Chess Command is to be the biggest group of ambitious chess players that are also committed to extending their athletic capability. _ The Chess Command works in a compartmentalized way. From there, we will be running tight selection processes for higher level teams... The Chess Command Special Teams, explained later, are teams of high capability members that have proven themselves way beyond that of a the basic entry level. Being part of these teams will be super interesting, we have lots planned. The selection processes are every 6 months. _ The ethos within the chess command is all about setting tight objectives and trying to smash them with a group of peers. Ultimately, we want everyone striving to get into the Chess Command Special Teams. Special Teams.
This is more about the Chess Command Special Teams. Read everything. _ Every 6 months we select just 10 members to form Special Teams. These teams will operate privately and at higher levels than the rest of the base level Chess Command. You will be expected to maintain high standards and progress. There will be team targets that you have to hit as well as your personal goals. Teams will train together, compete, and make sure that everyone on the team succeeds. In-person meet-ups are expected for training and planning. There will be a lot of cool stuff being arranged for Special Team members... You will attend rated tournaments together. You will train together. You will attend races together. You will workout and play casual training matches together. The list goes on and on. All alongside the usual schedule of hard trainings and meeting the team standard. Chess Command Special Teams are not a safe haven. You will be expected to meet standards or you will be let go. Many other high level members will be primed to take your space if you lack effort, results, and engagement. That's harsh but it's also the reality of what will be required to represent the Special Teams within the Chess Command. _ Bonuses when you are in a special team: 1. You no longer need to pay a member fee. 2. You get sent Chess Command Special Teams merch 3. Extra secret bonuses. _ ❓ HOW TO GET ONTO THE SPECIAL TEAMS: ❓ MINIMUM entry requirements are as follows: - FIDE rated over 1650 in classical. - Must be able to attend team meet-ups. - Beat the Navy SEALs minimum physical fitness test with competitive scores. - Run 100 miles within 3 weeks. - One of those runs will be a half-marathon sub 2:00:00. - You pass an interview. That's it. Work on this now because these standards might get way harder! _ ALL of the above get's you onto a team. You will have to show proof of all of the above and attend the first meet-up. ‼️ 🕰️ First selection: SEPTEMBER 1ST 2026 🕰️‼️
Special Teams.
Your first steps.
This is about some tasks we recommend to get you started. Also some expectations. _ 🥇Task 1: Do your gap analysis. Write out an analysis of where you are at this very moment in comparison with the chess command special teams minimum requirement. This shows you on paper, clear as day, the daylight between you and where you need to be. This will help you get focused. Save it somewhere, print it, have it lying around. 🥇Task 2: Write your schedule. Create a Test Schedule. This will be a weekly schedule that you are going to work to as a baseline minimum. It will involve all of your chess and physical trainings and whatever else takes up most of your time. It's required that you do this. Write one that is achievable as well as one that pushes you to be consistent. Tip: It's about consistency over intensity. 🥇Task 3: Plan tournaments.* IF you are not FIDE rated yet*. Plan your FIDE rated tournaments that you'll attend before the selection window opens. Make sure your rating is published before special team selection happens. 🥇Task 4: Reach out and post. Reach out to someone within the chess command. Be active. Post something or comment. Show a run, a workout, a game, your gap analysis, your schedule... anything. _ You are expected to contribute to the community. Don't just be a silent lurker. Part of getting on a special team is about you being confident and outgoing with others. Communication is king. ‼️Let an admin know when you have finished these tasks. ✅ Get to the next post. Over and out.
