I had to de digitization from my life.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

I have been working getting away from too much digital in my life. The average person checks their phones 144 times a day, that is you spend 3.5 month a years checking your phone, and that is just checking not using it. And when you are at work and you stop working to check your phone they say it takes 23.5 minutes to refocus. In the average person checks their phone 15 times in a hour which means they are actually productive 15 minutes out of the whole hour of working. Now I am not saying totally away from everything like off the grid type but to limit the amount of digital use that I use. One of the main things is using my cellphone to run my life. I bought a pocket notebook and I began to use this. Now in just a week I was amazed how my life has changed. Because I am not focused on my cellphone for everything. Using a notebook has made me focused on task because when I am writing things down I am actually focusing on the details, before when I used my iPhone I would just make a note and most of the time I would not even go back and look at it, so this was ineffective. Plus I was not detailed I would just make a note. But now when I make a note, my notebook is right on my desk I see it and I remember to go and look to see if I am on track or if I am missing anything. But the biggest thing I can open my notebook look and go back to work and as before I would end up looking at emails, text, or maybe see some notifications and start looking at those. Point is I would get distracted and loose focus.

But the biggest thing that happened since the switch to analog notebook is this. I was talking to a potential client and they were expressing some thins to me. As I was listening I said “ let me make a note of this, “ and I took out my notebook and began to write some notes down. And this person was like, “ you actually are writing these things down on paper?” I said yes I prefer to use paper and pen. They were so impressed that I was using this system and actually said that they were flattered that I felt their concerns were so important that I would hand write them down. I actually got that contract on the spot because they felt that I made them feel special by taking the extra time to write their concerns down by hand giving them a sense of importance, ease of mind knowing that I was actually concerned.

When I sent over the contact, I added a personal letter handwritten thanking them for their business. What I received in return was more valuable, They extended that contract from 3 to 5 years and also referred my firm to some of their other contacts.

So here are some quick advantages to having a pocket notebook.

!. There are not upgrades or updates that I have to worry about

2, There are not notifications that keep popping up forcing me to look

3. I can look at the notebook and not become distracted with other things and can return to my work and not loose focus

4. I do not have to plug in my notebook to recharge.

5, I am not worrying about checking my notebook and distracting others around me when in communication with people

6. I do not have to log on to see my notebook and distracting

7. I can see my actual progress in my task and what I am behind in and feel a sense of accomplishment when marking off task.

8. The acknowledgment and respect I receive from others when I use my noteboook because they know that thoughts are actually being used not AI or CHATGPT.

Ladies and gentleman I encourage you to evaluate your lifestyle with regards to a digital life. Side note: I was at Walmart and they are now selling Record players and vinyl records in 33 and 45’s! Classic recording from the 30’s. 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s! Yes people are reverting back to the analog lifestyle and watch closely , clothes and aesthetics of classic clothes and accessories will be coming back. You gentlemen are already ahead of the game.
