Silence, is it golden?

I’ve just seen a dog trainer on social media who says do not say anything whilst walking your dog. Pick up the lead, put it on, leave the house all whilst your dog is calm. If they aren’t don’t move forward such as leaving. Then whilst in the walk do not speak and it will make the dog pay more attention to you. So this is my experiment tomorrow.
