Hitting the pads after a long break
Hitting the pads after 6 months. I've recently been cleared for impact training after dealing with some nagging injuries. My guard is lower than I'd like it to be and I'm definitely slower than I had hoped. But any pointers or feedback would be welcome. πŸ™

Timing advice
During sparring, I usually have taller partners this means that I often have to have to get passed the range. I typically engage with the low kick and a jab to the outside circling left (orthodox stance), but my opponent expects this and resets. I've tried lateral movement to the right with a simultaneous jab, and despite feeling counter intuitive it has been working really well. Whilst this has not been exploited yet I realise that by stepping the right my chin becomes very open as leading with the jab creates an opening for my opponent's follow up left hand. I want to ask if this entry would be viable or if it only works as a novelty. If so, what are some other ways I can bypass range before my opponent resets.
